Fulude's Cafe ("we", "us") is a restaurant in Mapate, Thohoyandou, South Africa. This policy applies to our website and online ordering service at fuludescafe.co.za. We process your personal information in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

We collect information you directly provide when using our site:

Account details: your name, email address, and account password.
Order & booking details: items ordered, delivery address, phone number, dining preference, table number, reservation notes, or buffet booking details.
Reviews: your name, rating, and comments submitted on our website.
Delivery location: we convert your delivery address into map coordinates to calculate delivery fees, but we do not track your live device location.
Payment confirmation: payment status and payment references. We never store or see your card details.

3. Google user data

In short: If you sign in with Google, we only receive your name, email address, and Google account ID to log you in. We never access your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or any other private Google service.

When you use "Sign in with Google", we use your name, email address, and account ID solely to set up your account and send essential order updates. We do not sell this data or use it for targeted advertising.

You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Settings.

4. How we use your information

To prepare, deliver, and support your food orders and bookings.
To calculate delivery fees and process online payments.
To manage your account and keep you signed in.
To send critical service emails, such as order receipts or password reset notifications.
To display public reviews you choose to post.
To keep our online ordering platform secure.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for marketing. We only share essential details with reliable service providers required to operate our business, such as secure online payment gateways, map services for delivery fees, and system email services.

6. Storage and retention

Your information is stored securely, and all web traffic is encrypted. We retain your personal data only as long as necessary:

Account information: kept until you choose to delete your account.
Order and financial records: retained as required by South African tax and accounting law (typically five years).

7. Marketing

We only send promotional emails if you explicitly opt-in. You can change your email preference at any time in your account settings or by contacting us. We do not send promotional SMS messages.

8. Your choices and rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Update or correct your personal details in your account profile.
Request deletion of your account and profile data.

To delete your account, navigate to Settings → Account → Delete my account or contact us via email.

9. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We only use browser storage to remember your active sign-in session and store your shopping cart contents as you navigate between pages.

If we update our privacy practices, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through the site.
